Curtis and Jalea share a lifelong passion for fitness and a dedication to helping others achieve their goals. Curtis, a five-time Illinois State Champion in pole vault and hurdles, ran track at the University of Illinois and gained valuable experience expanding his father’s fitness franchise. Jalea, a collegiate 800m runner who graduated from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a degree in Exercise Science, found her passion for coaching through strength training and honed her skills in fitness operations and coaching across Illinois and San Diego while Curtis served in the U.S. Navy. Together, they moved to Colorado to grow The EPOC Experience before pursuing their dream of opening The Lifting Studio. With a focus on small-group training, Curtis and Jalea are committed to providing expert coaching, personalized programming, and a supportive community that feels like family.
